Online Artistic Workshop – PASTEL PORTRAITS

 

Take your soft pastel skills to the next level by challenging yourself with portrait drawing. Half day workshop open to learners with acquired basic drawing skills.

 

Take the next step in your progress and try your hand at portrait drawing with the medium of soft pastels. As their pigment content is very high, these little sticks contain vibrant colours and this means we can focus on one family group of colours.

 

Creating portraits with soft pastels might seem overwhelming and impossible, especially when you are still finding your way with this medium. However, soft pastels are exceptionally suited for portrait drawing. Due to their fantastic blending properties, soft pastels are actually great for building up tones and shapes. We will start by mapping out our subject and then gradually start building up skin tones in a step by step demonstration.

 

This class is suitable for learners who have acquired basic drawing skills.

 

There are no fixed dates so you are able to request any day/date you think would suit you best and I simply check my agenda to ensure I am available.

 

• 3 hour online workshop  9.00am –  12.00am (short break at 10.30am)

• Individual or group classes

• Minimum materials required : 
  - Charcoal paper + pencils.

  - One colour family set of soft pastels
